My illustrations for books are often normal sized but I stil l crank up the dpi to 300 or 600 so I can work on finer details better. Problem is, from what I could tell Krita has performance issues with high-res files for print, I normally use many many layers in photoshop as I work, I often do high-res files at 300 or 600dpi for posters and the like. Couple years ago I made a topic asking for some free alternatives to photoshop, people recommended some stuff and I decided to check out Krita as it seemed the closest to what I need.
